Around late 2017, a short film called Fractures was scheduled for 2018 in a livestream A strong lorebase was slowly developed around the events of the videos, and Rainimator began to increase both in new and returning subscribers.
Later, from 2017-18, the Rainimator channel uploaded four sequels to The Struggle: Cold as Ice, We Are the Danger, Just So You Know and Goodbye. The video reused many of Olaguer's previous character models, albeit redesigned. Later, Pfeiffer said that rather than 'traditional methods' such as radio, videos such as The Struggle could help expose his music to a broader audience. On August 11, 2017, Rainimator released his first production: The Struggle, a Minecraft Original Animated Music Video in collaboration with the singer Kyle Pfeiffer, Blacklite District. He also created Nether Reaches, a short for FredisaalAnimation's collab 'The Floor Is Lava'.
After CubeWorks' acquisition of Radapedaxa, Olaguer rejoined YouTube as Rainimator on June 29, 2017, and uploaded his first video, a MC Pixelart demo, on June 29, 2017.
